Using CSS for printing (link)

Using CSS for printing is a useful way of saving a round-trip request back to the server for a print-formatted copy of the current page.  Have setup a test-page that has a <link> to a print media CSS file which allows browsers to render the page at print time to exclude sections of the page that dont require printing (do a print-preview to see what I'm talking about).  Layout will need to be controlled by <div>s also as there's no reliable way (that I'm aware of) to control <table> column widths and visibility.

Mono C# compiler finaly can compile itself! (link)

Mono Milestone - the C# compiler from the project (an effort to create an Open Source implementation of the .NET Development Framework) is now able to compile itself.  An announcement on the Mono list in January spawned a thread at Slashdot  and another yesterday. Apparently "two months ago, the mcs was able to compile itself on Windows, using the Microsoft implementation of the framework (ie the core .net libraries). Now MCS is able to compile itself using the mono runtime."
