New 'Mad Max' film (link)
Mad Max

according to an article at CNN...

Mel Gibson is returning to the franchise for a fourth time, to star in "Fury Road" for original "Mad Max" director George Miller, who has been crafting the script for the last three years. Once again, Mad Max will roam the lawless, post-apocalpytic Australian outback.

Readers Note: the "lawless post-apocalyptic Australian outback" is not really a whole lot different to the "lawless pre-apocalyptic Australian outback". A few less people, and a little more wingeing perhaps. ;-)

This is brilliant news, I loved the 1st two movies, and although return to Thunderdome was a bit sucky I'm keen to see how this one pans out. Not sure how the new offerings from Ford will go though, I wonder if they'll go Holden instead ;-)

I've still got the shits

As reported in my thrilling post last week I have been suffering from a Flu virus which also bundles with it the added bonus of a case of the runs. I thought it was all sorted by the end of last week, but on Sunday night it returned with a vengence, and this time it bought an evil friend, vomitting.

After a couple of days off I'm feeling better, I wear a towel around my waste in case of accidents and tell anyone who asks that I've just been to the Gym.... Just kidding.

Chemotherapy Patients Set Off Subway Alarms (link)

Oh God, the poor bastards, how terrible would this be?. Apparently cities such as New York and elsewhere have been installing radiation detectors in subways as an anti-terror precaution. However, as reported in New Scientist, patients who are undergoing radiation treatment are setting off the alarms.

From the article, "a 34- year-old patient who had been treated with radioactive iodine for Graves disease, a thyroid disorder, returned to their clinic three weeks later complaining he had been strip-searched twice in Manhattan subway stations."
