Snow Folks .. and others
After a sleep-in before breakfast, then breakfast, and a sleep-in after breakfast, then lunch, we've finally stuggled out of the house at 3pm. Dont tell my Father coz he'll give you a list of things as long as his arm that he'd reckon we should have accomplished by mid-afternoon on a winters day :-)

Walking in the lightly falling-snow from the cabin down to the funny little net-cafe' on the main drag I couldnt help but think of the differences between Winter-folks and Summer-folks. Here's how a Summer-oriented person would be responding to the current environment here in Turoa...

Summer-folks reaction...

Jesus christ its cold, I cant feel my frigging hands, my toes are numb and my shoes are getting wet. When is it gonna stop freekin snowing so we can drive home and warm the fuk up. What a great waste of a days leave for this crap weather, I thought we were meant to be skiing?

Winter-folks reaction...

Oh man, cool, check out the snow, were gonna get some nice coverage overnight from this. Shall we go for a walk down to the pub, better wear a hat, pity all those poor suckers who have to go to work today. Wicked aye?

Case in point is the people I walked past on the way down the road. Met a women at the cabin gate as I left, she beamed a big smile through the falling snow and we exchanged jolly "Gdays". Then just round the corner I pass an elderly couple out walking the grandkids, big smiles from all, the kids peering out through multiple layers, everyone high on life. Loving it. Bring on the crap weather I say !!!
