Riding Spirits II - PS2 (link)

After an abysmal 10 minutes of play time I've just thrown the CD for the latest version of the RidingSpirits PS2 motorbike racing game back in its cover to be returned to the video rental store ASAP. What a friggin shocker of a game. It amazes me that a software house could release such a crap quality game these days when others are still doing amazing things with the PS2 platform.

The developers at Spike must be actually DrinkingSpirits if they think people are going to bother upgragding from the initial release of the game, which itself was marginal at best. There are truely no redeeming features in this sucker and no apparent improvements.

If anything the audio is actually more irritating than the original version, and that's saying something. The really hillarious thing regarding sound qualuity is their press release which boasts in the following way ...

Riding Spirits II features incredibly realistic engine sound thanks to a brand new proprietary technique called M.R.S.S (Motorcycle Real Sound System). This system simulates the action of each piston and the resulting engine noise is produced following a highly advanced physical calculation

I reckon MRSS really stands for "Making Really Shitty Sound". What a farking embarrasment. Thats $12 for three days of rental down the drain, but I guess its better than having paid $100 for the sucker to buy outright.
