We went round to cousin-P's for dinner last night which was fun. She's a bloody scream, and it was hillarious listening to her, Sonic and Pederson talking about the shit they got up to at Melville Finishing Academy. What wasn't fun was Simon and I having to listen to them crap on about home-and-away, Eastenders and Coronation street

At one point they all agreed it was terrible that Coro might be moving from Television NZ to PrimeTV. And they're in good (or bad) company as it seems the rest of NZ is similarly outraged ...

Plans by Prime TV to poach Coronation Street from Television New Zealand have outraged some local fans who cannot receive the Prime Channel... Barbara Tulloch, 73, a Christchurch fan of Coronation Street for more than 35 years, said most of her family were keen viewers but loathed the idea of her favourite show moving to Prime because she could not receive the channel. "I am very upset. I think it would be a bad mistake," she said. "Everybody knows not to ring me during Coronation Street. "I would probably go into a deep depression (if it moves to Prime)."

On a lighter and more amusing domestic news front, two special items lately. The first concerning the NZ cricket team, as if the black-caps arent copping enough flack about their dismal recent results, now poor old Daryl Tuffey has hit the headlines after a couple of English backpackers claim they have a video of Tuffey rooting some kiwi lass in Christchuch.

The girl denies all knowledge of the incident, and funnily enough so do her boyfriend and father, but then of course they would. The NZ cricket board isnt impressed though and sounds like Tuffey's up on some misconduct witch-hunt.

Hillarious item number two is a local item from here in Hamilton. We've recently had a couple of Hells Pizza joints open up in town and in a supremely ironic twist of fate one of them burnt out last week in a fire. Is that freekin funny or what?. Smoked Chicked pizzas are on special apparently for a few days.

It really must be a slow news day in NZ...
