We're Back Iraq T-Shirts (link)
Were Back Iraq

now this really is pushing the whole Patriotism thing a little. I've been receiving multiple copies of a spam email hard-selling Pro-USA T-Shirts on the Iraq issue.

The introduction to the email reads "Show Your American Patriotism & Support", and the shirts themselves have spar-spangled images and messages like "Were Back Iraq 2003" and "Game Over" (with a gunsight on Saddam) etc. The thing that amazes me is the friggin emails started arriving pretty much on the day of the invasion. Maybe the US govt is hoping to break into the tacky-clothing market

Ebola Threatens Apes (link)

There are plenty of significant threats to the last few population areas of great apes and chimps in Africa. Lost habitat due to logging and agriculture and commercial hunting to name a couple, but to make matters worse for our poor hairy cousins, it looks like Ebola has leap-frogged to the fore in recent years and is wiping out groups of apes in large numbers.

Second Superpower Rears its Head (link)

As the United States government becomes more belligerent in using its power in the world, many people are longing for a  "second superpower" that can keep the US in check. There is an emerging second superpower, but it is not a nation.  Instead, it is a new form of international player, constituted by the "will of the people" in a global social movement...
