When is a Weed not a Weed

Its a tough question for a green-thumbless egit like myself. When is a weed not a weed? Pederson finally convinced me to get out in the garden with her today under cover of the overcast skies to attack what she claimed was a weed infestation. My untrained eye dismissed the suggestion as crazy talk and I was only convinced otherwise when she played to my lazy streak by claiming if we didnt do it now It would be even harder work later

So it was we found ourselves knee-deep in innocent and nervous looking vegetable matter round the side of the house. Every few minutes one of us would yell out to the other "Is this a weed?", whilst guiltily holding the already pulled and expiring suspect. Neither of us really knew what was what so a the visit by Mawzy about midday was rather timely.

She escorted me round the permiter hilighting the friendlies and throwing scathing glances at the uglies that apparently needed to be terminated with extreme prejudice. Gardners are funny the way they talk about noxious weeds. You'd be mistaken for thinking they were Pacific war veterens talking about the Japs if you closed your eyes.

So three hours later (with a quick ride to Raglan break in the middle) we've weeded a good section of the property and filled a few black-sacs with the evidence. With a little spraying to finish off its been suprisingly interesting and quite productive and pleasing weekend interlude.
